We Are Football™ Festival  launched in 2017 in Durban to create a space for fans to indulge in football activities from playing social 6-A-Side matches, eGaming  to meeting football players as well as watching national teams play either on Big Screen or LIVE.

 

In 2018 the Expo Centre hosts the 2nd edition where global and local brands like LaLiga, SABC Sport, Nickelodeon, BET will create activation spaces to engage football fans across all ages and this is at the backdrop of a top African Cup of Nations 2019 qualifier with South Africa facing their nemesis Nigeria to qualify. It does not end there as South Africa also face Nigeria in their CAF AWCON 2018 opener in Ghana on Sunday the 18th which will be delivered on the BIG SCREEN. Our ambassadors are Mark Williams, Phil Masinga who was there last year and this year we are joined but the all-time goal scorer for Bafana Bafana  and a UEFA Champions League winner Benni McCarthy.

 

Fans from across the continent based in South Africa are looking forward to the 2 matches as well as the festival. Fans can meet their heroes and each other to experience a weekend of football including the match after-party as a celebration of African football. The festival also partners with the national association SAFA to engage fans on their supporter campaign "COME SHOW YOUR LOVE" with LEGENDS (SAMLFA) where parents can register their kids to train on the field before the big match to create future players and fans. This event is geared to create a world of football and expose African football brands to the diaspora for years to come.
